Cape Cognition provides psychological, psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments in Cape Town for children, adolescents and adults.
Assessment fees vary depending on the referral question and the amount of testing required. The fees below provide a general guide. We will confirm the recommended assessment process and fee before an appointment is booked.
SCREENING ASSESSMENT
R3,500
A focused first-step assessment for concerns such as possible ADHD, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence or other psychological difficulties affecting cognition functioning.
This typically includes a clinical interview, relevant screening measures and feedback regarding whether more extensive assessment is indicated.
A screening assessment does not confirm or rule out a diagnosis. Its purpose is to determine whether the presenting concerns warrant more comprehensive diagnostic or neuropsychological assessment and to identify the most appropriate next step.
If you subsequently proceed with a more comprehensive assessment through Cape Cognition, the R3,500 screening assessment fee will be deducted from the fee for the full assessment.
Psychoeducational assessments are primarily intended for children and adolescents experiencing concerns relating to learning, attention, academic performance or broader developmental functioning.
Assessment typically includes cognitive and academic testing, relevant questionnaires, scoring and interpretation, a comprehensive written report and a feedback consultation.
Where appropriate, the assessment may also assist in identifying learning difficulties and making recommendations regarding educational support or academic accommodations/concessions.

What does the assessment fee include?
